Hello

I recently got a new H1 remote and have replaced my 670. I am finding that this remote does not control the TV as well as the 670 did. With the 670 as long as you pointed it in the general direction of the TV it could turn the volume up or down. With the H1 unless you point the remote directly at the IR receptor on the TV it will not adjust the volume. This also means that when you start the activity the correct TV input is often not selected if you don't have the remote pointed just right.

I went to the troubleshoot section and adjusted the setting to 5 in the section that asked if the device did not always respond but this had no impact. I also set the inter key delay to 0 from 100 but this had no effect.

Are there any other suggestions? I am not having this issue with other devices, just the TV.

Thanks

I have noted the same observations as you ... My HKTC30 could be pointed in the general direction of the AV stand, and could control everything. The One has to be pointed dead center at the IR receiver of the device I want to control. I have not come up with a solution - I think the IR emitter is just a little more enclosed on the One, so it's more "directional" than other Harmony models.

For my set up only the TV has this problem. You can point the remote at the back of the room and it will still control the AV receiver! The TV is the worst device to have this problem with because it will often not get to the proper input now, where as before my 670 remote always went to the correct input.

natluc,
This doesn't seem to apply to you since only your TV is giving you problems.

drew2k1,
My first Harmony one acted like yours for all of my equipment. Talked to level 2 support and diagnosed that the unit was defective. Exchanged it and all is better. Now I can point the thing darn near anywhere and still control my equipment.
