Has anyone had any luck getting around the zone 2 bug for the Harmony 890 pro?
Logitech says they are working on the problem (for over a year) and in the meantime they recommend "leave on unused devices" to prevent shutdown of zone 2 when you turn off zone 1.
The funny thing is, I don't have this problem with my system at home and I have two zones operating with the Harmony 890 Pro. But, as an installer I have dozens of clients struggling with the zone 2 bug.
Thanks for any info.

Maybe a better approach is to set the power settings of the Zone 2 device (slave) to "no power button" so that only the Zone 1 device (master) controls the power. Then where needed, add the Zone 1 device to all "Zone 2 only" activities. Use the activity add device feature by selecting the option "Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity" (under Activity > Settings > Review the settings for this Activity).

I've programmed a dozen or so with zone 2 and not had the issue. The dealer I program for uses Yamaha amps. I know most of their amps have power commands for main off/on and all off/on. Perhaps the Zone 1 off/on is actually sending a all zone off/on. Perhaps you could test the original remote for this and learn the main or zone 1 power commands if applicable.

Another difference is my dealer asks that I leave all unused devices on always. It does speed up activities as all they do is input switching and we get very few calls. I use a separate activity for zone 2 that has just input selections and sometimes volume if it is variable not fixed.
