Hi,

I can't seem to find much info on the Logitech website.

I would like to control my PVR, DVD player, etc in a cabinet with the doors closed. The TV is above the fireplace with a 2" conduit into the cabinet. How can I control the TV? Does the 890 also send IR to the TV or do I need an IR blaster attached to the TV. If I put the receiver in the cabinet, I need a minimum 8 foot cable to the TV.

Will the 890 have everything I need, or do I need to buy additional cables or hardware?

Thank you

The 890 sends both IR and RF. The RF is for its RF to IR extender. So you can use the remote IR directly to control the TV, and the RF to IR extender to control hidden devices.

I don't think the 890 comes with the RF extender. I was in Best Buy this weekend and they had the extender as a separate item.

Your set up is how I have mine. RF extenders to the cabinet and normal IR to the wall mounted TV. However I will be opening up the wall to hide some extra cables I did not know about when I set it up and figured I would connect the RF extender to the TV as well. I figure why not.

The 890 does come with an RF extender.
It does work very well for components behind solid doors.
