I think I understand the need to adjust "inter-key delay" in order to speed up the slow default response times, but I'm still having a problem specifically with my 2 Echostar HD DVR's (ViP 622 & ViP 722).
There are no problems with turning on/off the DVR's. Associated activities start-up and shut-down appropriately and in a timely enough fashion.
My problem is with relatively slow, sluggish response either with channel changes or menu/guide navigation.
My current setting (for both boxes) are as follows:
Power on delay: 1500 Inter-key delay: 0 Inter-device delay: 500
I should also note that these are the same settings I had on my previous H688 and the response time was immediate/perfect.
I don't see how adjusting the power-on delay or the inter-device delay could rectify my issue (If I'm wrong, please correct me). My problem seems to be related to the inter-key delay, but I can't make it any faster than "0" can I?

I'm having the same issue between the H1 and my SA 8300HD. I can adjust the interkey delay to 0 so that the unit comes on and is ready to go, but the menu scroll is very slow. Or I can up the Interkey from 0 to 100 and then the unit doesn't always come on, but the scrolling is faster. Any direction from others would be appreciated. ,R On February 20, 2008 at 12:09, 120inna55 said...

Try decreasing both the inter-key and inter-device delays. You may be a victim of the infamous delay bugs (criss-crossed and/or sum of both delays).

On my 622 I have both the inter-key and inter-device delay set at 0. I also have the number of repeats set to 1. Reducing the number of repeats really sped up the channel changes using favorites, so I think that's the key.
With those settings, I'm happy with the response time.

Thanks for the replies.
Girdnerg, as a result of your settings, do you have an trouble with the 622 not turning on with first attempt, etc.?

No, with those settings everything works fine. The 622 is the most sensative piece of equipment I have. It'll respond with the remote pointed just about anywhere.
I wasn't complaining about the cross-post. I was confused at first because I could've sworn I had just responded but my post wasn't there. Made me go hmmm, I'm loosing my mind.

Want to 2nd Girdnerg's advice. After minimizing interkey delays with a DirecTV DVR, the only solution was to minimize repeats, enabling favorites commands to be completely received by DVR.

Rob This sped things up considerably. Setting the repeats to 1 made the 622 unresponsive and the 722 unreliable. So I compromised by leaving them @ 2. Turning the inter-device delay to "0" combined with inter-key @ "0" made it almost as fast as the H688 was. I can live with this. Thanks.

I'm having similar issues with my Harmony 670 and a Pioneer DVD player. Can you tell me where I can adjust repeats? I see the Inter-key settings but not for anything about repeat settings. Thanks. On February 20, 2008 at 23:29, 120inna55 said...

The "Number of Repeats" (now nameless) parameter is under Device > Troubleshoot > xx responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally.
