When watching my "Watch DVR" activity I'd like to have the either the "direction down" button or the "STOP" hard button do several things.
If I hit one of these buttons I'd like to:
1) stop playback of the DVR recording
2) switch to "Watch TV" activity
Is there a work around or does someone have an idea to accomplish this?

No, you can't program hard or custom buttons to switch activities. You can have the Watch DVR activity send a "stop" command when you exit that activity.
