Is it possible to program a sequence longer than 5 steps? I am using a Harmony One and am trying to program a sequence to change my DirecTV guide to show only sports programs.

The sequence is

Guide
- (to cause a delay)
Guide
Down Arrow
Down Arrow
Select

I don't want to program a delay for the entire device, only this sequence.

Thanks

I have DIRECTV and have a similar sequence for HD filter (GUIDE > GUIDE > PG-DN > SELECT), but don't have a need for the DASH as a delay. Have you tried removing it? That obviously gets you to 5 keys...

Other than that, you can try to learn DOWN-DOWN as a single raw command, but there's no guarantees it will work.

Finally, we can keep requesting Logitech up the limit from 5 commands to 10, and that they permit variable delays during execution of sequences ...

For some reason, I could never get my DirecTV H20 receiver to recognize two consecutive Guide commands in a sequence. I tried changing all the delays, etc. to no avail.

As drew2k1 mentioned, I also use the Page Down command but that takes me the HD channels filter. More than 5 commands per sequence would be a nice update.

I have a DirecTV HR20-100 DVR and to create a sequence to get to my To Do List I needed 6 commands: Menu, Direction Down, Direction Down, Direction Down, Select, Select. To create this I had to learn the Direction Down command 3 times in raw mode, Under the Activity, select Customize Buttons, Learn Command, Select your Device, Next, Select Custom, Name your Command, I named it "Direction Down X3", select Learn Command, then I quickly press Direction Down 3 times, It stated Key Detected, The new command appeared at the bottom and said learn analized, I then clicked learn raw and I again taught it the Direction Down 3 times.

Or you could just do List, then Yellow.

Not with the latest National Release you can.t

List > Yellow now brings up the Playlist Options menu.

The only way to get to the To Do List now is:

Menu > Down > Down > Down > [ Down ]* > SELECT > SELECT

*[Fourth DOWN is required if Music & Photos is present on a networked DVR.]

As drew2k1 said, your best bet is to try and learn a sequence of key presses as one key stroke using the RAW mode.

I have the Dish VIP 622 and the only way to toggle closed captions is a sequence of 9 key presses.

I learned one command in RAW mode that I named CC TOGGLE 1 which consists of
MENU > 8 > 8 > 1 > LEFT ARROW
Then I learned a second command in RAW mode named (you guessed it) CC TOGGLE 2 which consists of
SELECT > RIGHT ARROW > SELECT > VIEW LIVE TV

I then created a sequence in the activity using the 2 commands I created and named it CC Toggle.

It works great and moves as fast as I originally pushed the buttons while learning.

It did take a few attempts to get it right as I was testing how many key strokes I could learn at one time. In my case the limit seems to be 5, but I have heard of others getting more.

After success with the Dish DVR I then created another to do the same for my sony TV that doesn't have a CC toggle command either.

Girdnerg, you must have nerves of steel to manually teach a sequence of 5 commands. The highest I have heard of is 7 (with the manual method). Most people have trouble with a sequence of 3 commands. I am one of those, so I use another learning remove to send the sequence. It's a lot easier with another learning remote because the sequence is always consistent and it won't ask to try again and again and again...

I practiced the sequence until I had it down first. Then it took me about 5 tries to get the timing between key presses down.

Your way sounds easier, but I don't have another learning remote, so I did the best I could with what I have (fingers, lol).
