I just purchased the 890 and I'm currently letting it charge. How well does the RF work on this unit? Is it worth it as a good remote? Any thoughts on this would be great.

Thanks

The RF works very well. I have all but one of my components behind solid wood doors and I have no issues whatsoever.

No problems or complaints. All of my gear is in a closet & down a hallway from my viewing area & controlled via RF.

I have mine in a closet about 20ft away from where I sit. The RF is horrible. I have to constantly position the remote in a certain position for the extender to receive the signal. Now I have the extender just sitting on top of the components. Would that cause a problem? Does the extender need to be positioned a certain way? Could I have a flaky remote?

Could be the remote. My RF works from the driveway.

I just picked up a new 890. It's all setup. But, I did noticed that the RF is flaky. I'll press the pause or play or what ever button and sometimes I have to press it twice or 3 times for it to take. I'll press the down arrow to scroll through my pvr menu and after pressing the down arrow twice, it will actually jump like 5 - 10 lines, instead of 2.

I'm only about 20 ft from the extender, and it's in a closet. I did move the extender around in the closet to see if that would help. But nothing changed. When I poke to Logitech support on pairing the extender, ( that was a nightmare), the tech said that of all their product they get the most calls on the 890. He said the RF is really touchy.

Any thoughts at all?

Thanks

What frequency does it run on? Maybe those having issues is because of interference. So far, besides an issue getting it paired with my remote, works flawlessly.

Are you using the emitters from the extender directly over the IR sensors on the components? The only, & incredibly rare- once, issue I have ever seen with my extender is the cable box which I have the emitter "looking at" the IR sensor on the cable box, but not attached to it like I have on my other components. I use the adhesive emitter boots with my other components & they have never hiccupped.
