I was wondering if anyone had succeeded in disassembling a Harmony 720. The New puppy got a hold of mine and now one of the charging contacts is pushed into the remote, so I am having charging issues. The remote as a whole seems to be working, but I need to fix the contacts.

I've removed the 4 screws under the battery cover and have unsnapped the top cover along both edges, but can't remove the tinted IR emitter cover at the top of the remote. This seems to be the only part still holding the top and bottom shells together.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are two hidden screws on the front near the top. One on each side.

Thanks

Hi,

I realize this thread is very old but maybe someone is still out there.

I don't see how to get to those two screws near the top. From picture it looks like they are under a flexible cover. But my cover is hard plastic.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

RR

Never mind. I finally got it open. It's a bit tricky.

Now, the next step is to close it without screwing it up. ;>)

Thanks, RR

Old Thread but still what I needed. Thanks

I still love my 720 even tho I've bought relatives newer models - and liked the setup of the 720 better. Just need to clean every year or so to revive some buttons. But I never could figure out what was holding the top end together so I would just do the best I could with the rest pried open.

Thanks again.

I know where the famous 2 screws are, but how in the world did you guys get to these screws without having to break anything?

OK, I forced my way in without breaking anything.!!!
