Hi all,

For those of you who have read this ...
[Link: remotecentral.com]

... may be familiar with the problems in controlling Pace cable boxes.

I own a Harmony 895 remote control and although my Pace 810-XE Satelitte digibox is recognised by the Harmony database, almost every press is tempremental. Sometimes it over fires and on other times 1 in 5 button presses actually work - HOWEVER, I have a work around.

From the Harmony Pace Device interface, go into Learn IR -> Custom (bottom right corner next to 'Done') -> and Learn Raw for every command.

Normally when the Harmony learn's IR it associates it with codes in the IR database. By learning raw, it captures whatever has been emitted by your original remote and doesn't attempt pairing to the database i.e. it remains faithful to the source.

I am now able to control my Pace box through my Harmony remote FULLY.

I hope this comes in useful!

I had the same problems with a cable box. (I think those boxes are only used in the UK, and are very poor technically). However after a recent upgrade I now find everything is working O.K. This after having had the remote for nearly two years and having spent some considerable time on the phone to Canada soon after I first bought it! Seems they get there in the end.
