I just purchased a Harmony 890. I have components in an enclosed cabinet, my TV is not. I placed my RF wireless inside the cabinet. All the components work fine. To get the TV to work I have to open the cabinet. Can I setup the Harmony 890 to send a straight IR signal to my TV?

I don't have a 890 but I think you tell it whether the components are controlled by the remote itself or by the IR emitters on the remote unit.

Yes Akirby that is the way it works. You can tell it whether to send IR to a device or to use the RF/IR extender. You can also assign which port it should use on the extender or to flash all 4 ports.

I am very happy with the 890, and use it instead of IR repeaters on my installations.

The disadvantage of doing that is you can't use the OEM remotes the same way. With my IR repeater I can use my 720 or the OEM remotes interchangeably. Or any other universal remote.
