I recently reduced the display fade out time to 5 seconds (the smallest value allowed) in an effort to reduce the frequency I have to charge it.
I've found that during the half second or second during which the display is fading out, all the keys are locked out. It's quite annoying. I can hit 3 channel up or 3 volume ups (at least) in the amount of time it takes the display to fade out.
I spent a good half hour searching this forum and was surprised that no one else has ever said anything about this, which makes me wonder if it is specific to my 880, but I can't believe it is.
