Hi everyone,

I've got a Yamaha DVD-C750 and a Harmony 670. The Harmony's great, and the Yammie's, well, it plays everything I throw at it.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the Harmony programmed to do what I want with the Yammie, and it seems that the description in the database is not very good--the disc skip button doesn't work, there's no discreet buttons for reverse and fast forward (have to hold down the skip back and skip forward buttons), etc. I know (from reading other places on these forums) that such codes exist, but I don't know where to find them, and I really don't know how to get them into the Harmony!

Anyone have any tips?

Thanks!
Ken

Email Yamaha (or Google for them) to get the IR codes for the DVD player. They should be able to provide you with a PDF. I did the same for my RX-V2700 receiver. You may also want to check remote central's discrete hunter for your DVD player.

Once you obtain the PDF with the IR codes, send them to Harmony support and they will add them to the database.

Expect about 3-5 days response from Yamaha and 2-3 days response from Harmony. Be patient. It took me a few emails to get the document from Yamaha (they sent me the wrong stuff initially) and Harmony will only add the codes that you specify, so be specific as to what you want. If you only need the SKIP button, that should be easy. If you need 12 commands, list them.

Good luck!

Apparently not. Yamaha sent me an email informing me that the codes were now only available to dealers. Anyone happen to have a copy of the codes for this thing?

Did you try all the available commands in device mode?

To dig up this thread from the deep dark dungeons of the past...

Yup, tried the available commands, no dice. I also tried training the Harmony by holding down the FF/Rev buttons for the requisite 2 seconds, but it simply wouldn't take in either raw or normal mode--not that I have a clue what the difference is.

It will try to find an existing database matching command in Normal mode, but not in RAW mode. In RAW mode, the timing must be consistent since it will ask you to repeat to confirm it. Use a stopwatch. Note: After learning a command, it should map it to an LCD key at the bottom of the list in device mode, but you must map it to key in activity mode. It won't do that automatically.

So I may just be doing the learning wrong? It seems to consistently report (even in RAW) that I'm holding the key down too long (and I need to hold it down at least 2 seconds to get it to ff instead of skip. I don't even get to the confirm part. I'll give it another shot. Thanks!
