How many people are encountering this error message when attempting to display and/or customize the buttons in an activity? There is another thread (discussing the new website) with a few reports of this occuring.

I have been running into this, on some of my 880 configuration activities, for the past several days - since after their most recent update to control the propogation of buttons across activities.

The error occurs with some activities only (can't quite determine what common factor, if any, exists within those activities). Consistent with the use of website only or the harmony software (ver 7.0.2 and earlier 5.3).

I tried to resolve it with the logitech/harmony support over the weekend but with no success. Despite their (as always) best efforts, the only solutions I was offered were 'try again in a few hours' to 'everything appears to be alright on our end'.

This is so frustrating as it totally prevents any further modifications to the remote. How can we convey to logitech, beyond dealing directly with support as I (and some others) have already done, that something is truly amiss and appears to be widespread?

Are they truly blissfully unaware of this, and other, problems that groups of users may encounter from time to time? A sad model indeed since it can potentially render the product useless for such groups of users.

Any words of wisdom from logitech/harmony or the more enlightened folks on this forum would be greatly appreciated!

I have this problem over the last week after modifying my configuration to include a new device. I only get the error when I try to customise behaviour of buttons in one particular activity. The remaining activities I am able to customise as normal albeit with the changes to show one device per line only. I have removed the activity and the device unique to this activity and re-added both and still get the same message. I have contaced support on the weekend and am waiting for level 2 support to contact me this week, hopefully. The error occurs on both the website and software (v7.0.2). The device that is used in this activity and none of my other activities is a Topfield 5000MP. My remote is an 880.

Puzzled,
Julie

Try this: After deleting the offending device and associate activity(ies), update the remote first, then add them back in.

Just fixed this by setting buttons to default for another device. I had an invalid character in a custom button name for the other device.

thanks

I've been fighting this error and just plain losing my additional button settings since I've had the remote (659). Happened again today :(.

I've run into this error again and again. It looked to my that it had something to do with the amount of infrared commands I added to a device. It seemed like every device only tolerated a certain amount of 'learned' commands, before giving me the error message when trying to change the button settings.

It made me start over and over and over again with setting up the remote, to a point it almost made me crazy. :(

I also noticed that a few of my additional button settings just simply disappeared. I like the remote, but a web interface like this is really very annoying!!!

Hopefully I will get my settings right, and never have to do this process again. Fat chance ;)

By the way, I don't think my "Unable to Display Content" error has anything to do with using special (read: 'forbidden') characters in the button names. Yesterday I was able to setup and modify all the devices and activities, and update the remote. Today - just for the fun of it ;) - I checked to see if everything was still functioning, and that good old error message was back with a vengeance, on most of my devices and activities.

Why does such a fine remote have to come with such a crappy webtool? :s

I've just taken an 890 out of the box, installed the software, and connected it for the first time. Running through the account configuration, after it asks if I have any Zwave devices and I say no, it displays the "Unable to Display Content" error and asks to click Next. Clicking next does nothing.

This is new, out of the box, no configuration.
Terrible.

I bought a 670 and tonight was my first night attempting to customize it. I installed it as per the included directions, allowed the software to auto-update itself, and after first entering my user name and password I get the $(*%*( "Unable to Display Content" with the dreaded Next > button that goes nowhere. Seriously Logitech what the hell? Brand new, out of box, no special characters, ZERO devices added because I couldn't even get that far... I really hope their servers are down or something. I'm curious to know who's genius idea it was to do this through a web interface instead of just making this software reside on the local computer with a call to a database containing the most updated IR/electronics information?? Someone please help so I didn't spend over 100.00 on junk. Thanks.

Check your Custom Button Name fields and see if you have any illegal special characters such as /,&#@* or spaces. Check each one closely as there could be a typo in one of the fields.

All set now. Their website was down last night. It would be nice if Logitech posted site status somewhere for customer benefit...
