About 2 months ago my 880 stopped lighting the display upon motion, I would have to press a button to get the display to light. Was just getting ready to RMA it when my OPPO DVD player had to be RMAed. Upon its return I got a new remote and had to alter my 880 settings to have it work. I downloaded the newest V.7 download and retrained the 880 to accept some Raw settings for certain buttons. When I finished the upload to the 880 low and behold the motion sensor started working again. Go figure.

most problems are as simple as a software issue. most command problems and backlight issues cn be solved with a firmware upgrade in safe mode.

That's weird. I just RMA'd a brand new 880 because the motion sensor would not work - that brand new one was a replacement for my year-old one on which the USB connector fell off. I guess plugging it in 1000 times takes its toll. :)
