Thank you for answering/advising in any way you can to help me decide whether to buy it or not.. I will be using it with a Dish HD-DVR (ViP622), Sony TV, Onkyo Receiver, and a Panasonic DVD player. I'm assuming it will work with these.

I notice there are "files" with logos for the various channels here. After I choose an activity, say "Watch TV", can I setup the remote so that the LCD screen shows various channel logos and changes to those channels when selected? How many are available? Just 8? Or can you scroll multiple pages of screens?

I guess I basically would like to know how customizable the remote is as far as programming the LCD/macros/sub-menus, etc.

You can create up to 16 favourite TV channels on one activity. These are accessed inside the activity by pressing the media button. You can of course create additional, pseudo or cloned activities which could include additional favourite channels.

Hope this helps, dp

Thank you... Media Huh?

I was thinking I would program that to correspond to my "DVR" button on my Dish receiver.

So, after you press "Watch TV", what shows up next on the LCD? Do you have control over this? Ideally, I would like it to immediately show 8 TV logos, and then be able to scroll left/right through pages of more logos. I guess this isn't possible?

When you press "Watch TV", the next screen shows the custom buttons on the screen (for extra TV, AMP, ect. functions). You then have to press the "Media" button on the remote to get the Favorite channels screen to come up.

On the 880 and 890 at least, you can have 2 screens worth of channels, with 8 favorite channels per screen, for a total of 16 favorite channels.

Also, for channel logos, go to this website. A very nice person made up a whole bunch of channel logos for people to use, other wise you have to make your own file. Works with 880 and 890 (US and Canada). I'm not sure that these work with any other model. Has most cable and HD channels.

Oh, one more thing. If you have dish, never get a dual tuner. I have a dual tuner and the 2nd tuner works only off RF, and is not compatible with Harmony's RF. I need to get two seperate tuners.

Other than that, I am very Happy with my remote. Software takes a little to get used to, though.

Thank you. Actually I already have the dual tuner setup, however, if I do buy the 880 it will be for use with the 1st tuner only, as the 2nd TV has no receiver/etc. so the setup is simple enough I'm happy using the Dish supplied RF remote.

i can program a max of 24 fave channels on my 720. its kinda funny the 880 only has 16 considering the 720 and 880 are basically the same remote with different shapes. plus the battery cover is easier to pull off on the 720 than the 880.
whats so hard about following instructions?

Hoping for some help here..... I am using Directv's HR20.

I created all my favorite channels, uploaded the channel images and lowered my interkey delay to 0. However, when I push the 'favorite channel button' to get to say ....ch. 82 .... the channels change to 8 then 2. I've called Logitech and they were no help whatsoever. Please help! Thanks.

Check the "How do you select channels" setup under "Device > More Options > Redo initial setup for this device (or Advanced setup...)". It has 4 options, make sure you select the correct one. Also try reducing the inter-device delay. There is a bug with the inter-device and inter-key delays. I think there are added together.
