I have tried 2 of them (880 and xbox 360 models) with frustrating results. Both were returned. Nevo SL all the way. :)

I haven't had many issues with my 720 aside from not being able to design custom activity icons, but i didn't expect that much from a sub-$200 remote.

This thread has served as a great resource for me in tweeking my remote by others' experiences.

I would love to bring in a Nevo SL, and would do so in a heartbeat, but from what I can tell it doesn't support Mac OS nor iTunes media (and I also can't justify spending that much on an universal right now after plunking down thousands on my 1080p panel). If it ever supports the Mac system I would consider it.

Is that a touchscreen remote? Looks like it to me. I will NEVER buy a touchscreen remote again (including the Harmony 1000). I owned one of the early Pronto models before the Harmony and it was awful. If I can't feel the buttons then it's unusable to me.

I agree. A touch-screen requires you to take your eyes of whatever you're watching and hunt for the required button.

Because at the time, what we saw was an activity-based remote with lots of hard buttons, an enormous programmability potential, lower cost than an MX-950 and software that had room for improvement.

What we didn't see was a company that enjoys flipping its customers the finger on a regular basis.

It's not the remote that is the problem, it's the company that now manages it.

From what I have heard the logitech support is really good though I can not say I have used it myself. Another thing about this forum is the only people who come here are going to have problems I don't think people would come here just to talk about how much they love their remote. I only have experience with a 550 that I programed for someone else and after much headache getting it set up when it was finally working I liked it so much I purchased an 880 for myself. I plan on starting to program it for my setup tonight.

I can only assume that those that give up and return a Harmony "because it didn't work" were either too lazy or not bright enough to set it up properly. That is the only downfall - you can't expect some joe blow or an elderly person to set one of these things up. You do have to be slightly technical and take the time to get used to the (somewhat poorly laid out I will admit) software.

Once set up, the remotes are trouble free for the most part.

I just got finished programming my 880 and I couldn't be happier. Everything works perfect. This set up was a lot easier than the one I did before. The software recognized all my equipment and the activities worked right off the bat. After some minor button customizing I am all set! I spent an evening of TV and DVD watching and it is working like a charm. Unless some issues arise down the line I'd say this remote is a winner!

Wait a few weeks until you go to the web site to make a minor change and it wipes out all your custom programming. See how happy you are then.

I made some changes last night and the only problem I had was it wiped out all the buttons on my Watch TV activity - no idea why, but it is my simplist activity so it wasn't a huge deal to redo it.

The other thing that seems to happen the odd time is it will remove my antenna rotator from activities at random when I update - I just have to re-add it to the activity (and the buttons automatically repopulate the way I had them).

A couple odd quirks there, but neither is a huge deal for me.
