I just purchased a Harmony 1000 and have it installed with a RF extender. Everything in the theater seems to be working except my old dish 501 receiver. The original remote is UHF but it has a IR port on the front. I added the device on the Harmony as a PVR but it will not respond at all.

Can anybody lend a hand on what needs the setup needs to be to make this work?

Overall I'm really happy with the 1000, on dial up it is a little touch to program but kinda expected these days.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. A bit different setup though. I have the Harmony 890 remote and a dual tuner dish network 322 reciever. Tuner 1 is IR, Tuner 2 (for another room) is UHF. Tuner 1 is set up fine on my remote, but Tuner 2 will not work with IR.

Dish says I would have to buy two seperate dish recievers in order to use my harmony remote for my other room . Mabye someone can hack the Z wave function to control the UHF dish reciever? If you find anything, please let me know too! [email protected]

One other thing, my dish remote has a little removable tab at the bottom (blue or green). Take the battery cover off, and pull the colored little tag and turn it around. I think some older remotes do not have this feature.

Sorry I couldn't actually help you.

mmcnx,

Dish receivers can be set to different remote addresses so that if you have more than 1 receiver (or a neighbor with one) they can be controlled independently . I'll bet that's the problem .

Dbrud,

There is no way to control TV2 other than with the Dish UHF remote .
