Hello,

Say you are using a programmed Acitivity, watching a DVD for exemple, and in the middle you decide to watch TV.
Both use the same set of equipment except the DVD player that have to be swapped with the satellite tuner and some input changes etc....
Well, what happen when you do that on the Harmony remote?
It starts shutting down some appliances and restarting them and messing around....
In the end I end up using the Devices one by one to set everything.
The alternative is to shut down the first Activity and to start up the new one.
This is stupid especially involving equipment that need to warm up like projectors..

Anybody having the same problem?

Thanks

Yes, you set options to leave devices on. Make sure you use discrete on and discrete off rather than power toogle if available for your devices too. Then when you shut down your viewing for the evening or whenever, all devices are switched off. If you don't use the power discretes and switch off a device manually though, as Harmony has to otherwise use power toggle it will switch a device on that it thinks is already on. Did that make sense?

jlet has explained discrete power settings very well in other posts. Search for his posts if you need more explanation.

Hope this helps. Rgds, Pfeff

To be more precise you have 2 options - set the activity to "leave unused devices on" or simply add the equipment you want left on to the other activities. Or the 3rd option is to leave equipment on all the time.

equipment should be left on all the time - set the device's power buttons to "leave this device on all the time"
equipment should turn on when the first activity is selected and off when you hit the OFF button - add the device to all activities (or set all activities to "leave unused devices on")
equipment should only turn on and stay on for selected activities - add the device to the activities where you want it to stay on
