I just added an IR-543 X10 Controller ( IR543 ) to my setup. I've encountered an "interference" problem involving my TV durring shutdown via the "Exit" button. A possible workaround exists if I could add a delay before sending the Off command to the IR543 so that commands aren't being sent to the IR543 until after the TV shuts down.

Here is what I discovered so far. While the IR543 responds to all signals and activity changes from my harmony if I test it away from my my HT setup (indicating it is not an IR sequencing problem), it fails when I integrate it with my HT equipment. I discovered that if I unplug my JVC TV (LT-37X987) then it functions correctly. Suspecting power line noise from the TV, I plugged the IR-543 directly into an X10 line filter. It still failed to respond as indicated by the command response lights remaining off on the controller (indicating it is not an X10 powerline signal interference problem). It seems to me it is either power line interferrence outside the X10 frequency range of the X10 filter, or EM radiation interference from the TV (more testing to do here).

My main issue is that I want to send an IR-543 command when I shutdown using the Exit button. If I could delay sending any IR543 commands until after the TV shuts down, then I would at least have a working system. I tried increasing the Inter-Device Delay but this causes the delay to be inserted between every Ir543 signal coming from harmony. What is the best way to insert a delay before shutting down the IR543 in response to the "Exit" key press on the Harmony?

Well I seem to have a crude workaround, though I would still appreciate any better ideas. I changed the off command for the IR543 from two commands, light1+off, to four commands, off+off+off+off, and set the inter-device delay to 1500 from 5000. This results in four off commands being sent out over six secconds. Seems to be pretty reliable and generally turns off on the first off command. This leads me to believe that the lights1 command was participating in the failure somehow.
