I am on hold, for a half hour now with Logitec, and thought I would see if I could get this resolved while I wait.

I have the software installed, and it recognizes the USB connection. No problems there. When I connect the 1000, the remote lights up, and the blue activities light flashes a few times, then the remote goes dark, and won't respond.

In the Software, I am stuck at the screen "Check Connection" The communication status is 0%, and no error messages.

I have tried:
Disabling Firewalls, and Anitivirus.
Uninstalling and Re-installing software
Re-Booting.
Removing and re-inserting battery and plugging in the 1000 without the battery.

So far, no luck.

Do I have a Lemon?

Nevermind. It is dead, dead, dead. It is going back.

I gave up on Logitech tech support, after 40 minutes on hold, so I am debating whether to replace it or not. I don't appreciate the idea that I would have to hold so long to get help.

Yeah, sounds like there is a big problem by the flashing lights you describe - that's not normal and seems like the remote is getting stuck on rebooting itself or something.

I have a 1000 and am returning it tonight, at this early stage it is just way too buggy.
Could never get the thing to work properly and for a remote that expensive, there shouldn't be problems like that.

I got an 890 instead and was able to program and get it fully tweaked within a few hours. I think that says a lot.
