Navigating through all the menus and screens in the Harmony Remote Software to verify that all settings are still OK after making changes is very time-consuming.

Also, for a complex setup, remembering which hardcoded buttons have been programmed and what actions have been assigned for all the different devices and activities is not straight-forward. A printed summary in the form of a customized user manual would therefore be great.

Has anybody managed to generate a report/print out an overview of all current settings?

Why don't you just go to the web page (after you log in to members... ) where the comands are listed and print it? You have one for each activity.

Because I was not aware I could also log in to the web and get the full overview on one page... (The client side app only shows an extract that needs to be scrolled both ways).

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I second the printout option as long as it's accurate and concise. Even if it's not printable, but online viewable is still a good alternative.

I wonder if logitech checks this site for ideas...

This would be a great solution, except that the redesigned web site no longer allows full pages to be printed! What a stupid redesign by Logitech ...

My browser (Firefox 2) allows me to print any html page regardless of its page length. However, I don't print, I just save the html page.

I just visited the website again to print out my current settings as recommended, to have as a reference before redesigning my activity menus. Big disappointment! The problem with printing is not the page length. The redesigned web has introduced a fixed-size, scrollable frame that only displays a small subset of the commands at the same time, similar to the local app. Why?

With no backup capability and no easy way to get a printable overview of current settings, I am very reluctant to add remaining devices and do the final fine-tuning required to be satisfied with the remote behaviour. I will push on Logitech to come up with better solutions to these obvious requirements. I don´t have high expectations for near term improvements, though...

eidehli's post better explains what I meant about not being able to print the configuration from the redesigned Harmony web site. You can only capture to print whatever portion of the scrollable frame is currently being displayed. Before the redesign, you could print out your customized buttons because they were not embedded in that frame.

Like I said, I capture the html frames for backup but never print them. Why waste paper? Just open another browser on your desktop to view/compare.

It should be part of the software, like backup but oh well. There's a great application to capture scrolling windows and convert to PDF's called SnagIt by TechSmith. It's not too spendy and you'll find it really useful for all kinds of things (including video capture!). No, I don't work for them but have used it for years. I'm going to try it myself next time I'm on the site.
You can choose to print or just save w/ a date marker.
So, how do civilians do this stuff?

If you try to save the page as HTML in Firefox, or to save it as a Web Archive (.mht) file in IE, you'll get blank drop-down lists. Only "Complete Web Page" works, but I hate using IE.

Like I said earlier, this was a stupid redesign on Logitech's part. Moving the button configurations into the frame has really eliminated some of the convenience of the web interface.

The drop-down lists still work on my saved html files using Firefox > Save Page As > Web Page, HTML only. I don't even have to use "Web Page, complete".
