I have created multiple activites that make use of my AV receiver. Under "watching tv", I have added a custom button called AFD which is set to the AV receiver's AFD button. Under watching dvds I have a button labeled "movies" which is set to the AV receiver's SNDFldsMovie button. Similarly with "listening to CDs" I have a music button which triggers the AV receiver's SndFLDMusic button.

Here is the problem. When I added these custom button labels, I found out that a change in these buttons in one activity was affecting the other activities. That is, when I went back to "watching tv" activity, the AFD entry was replaced with the music custom button.

Any suggestions?

That's a feature that's been discussed ad nauseum. The easiest solution is to teach the command you need for the AV receiver to a device that only appears in that activity (DVD for dvd player, cable box for watch TV, etc. or just create a new device if necessary) and use that command for the LCD. It only propogates the changes to other activities that use the same device for the same purpose. So by using a device that isn't used in the other activities you can circumvent the feature.

Akirby,

Thanks. I guess I should have searched a bit more. Your solution fixed my problem.
