Just thought I would report that I picked up an Insten Ipod dock from ebay, and programmed my 880 for it. Works perfectly. Only 10 bucks plus shipping. Much better deal than the Apple one! Black, too. No way I wanted a white dock with all my black HT components. I have it running to my Pioneer Elite receiver, with the USB connected to my PS3 so it charges the Ipod :-)

Does this iPod dock support showing the iPod menu on your TV screen when controled by the 880 remote?

No, it is audio only. We have a mini and a Nano, so there is no video need. There are others that support video, though. Check itrimming.com

what type of a device did you set it up as? i have the dock, and i am trying to setup my 550 to control the dock. thanks.

I just checked my setup for you. It is an "Insten Digital Music Server"
