Has anyone fixed an 880's dead charging base yet? I've got two 880s, and can charge both using one base, but it would be nice to revive the second charger since the remotes are used in seperate rooms. The base worked when new, but now emits no light and won't charge the remote.

Bump.

So, no one brave enough to open up a charging base?

Secondly, has no one her ever had a charging base fail? I know many have charging issues that have to do with getting good contact between the base and the remote.

OK. My bad.

It turns out my wife, in order to play a VHS tape, unplugged the charger and forgot about doing it. She'd needed the socket to plug in the VCR.

It also pointed out to me that there is one big fire hazzard behind that device rack. One wall outlet feeding a long surge protector and another extention cord feeding:
TV,
SAT,
DVD,
A/V Receiver,
TIVO,
light,
laptop computer adapter,
880 charger,
rear wireless speaker transmitter,
clock, and ultimately
The electric company.

Fortunately not everything is on at once. ;-)
