Hi,

I followed the advice of posts here and uploaded my movies as a .csv file. I setup the remote to change discs based on this also. My display does not get cleared from the screen after the disc is selected. If I use the following settings it works most of the time:

inter-cmd delay: 500ms

Before sending disc number:
display
right direction

After sending disc number:
select
down direction (to add delay)
down direction (to add delay)
down direction (to add delay)
display
display

The problem is the remote is very slow with this 500ms setting (also using RF on this device). I set it to 0 ms and it works great for using the dvd but there is not enough delay after the selection of the disc number and the dispaly cmds to remove the display menu. I am always stuck with the second menu not the first so the first display command is taken. Is there a way to have the remote wait a second or so then send display twice without messing up the inter-cmd delay on all the other dvd functions? I am curious to hear exactly what others with the 880/890 have setup in the way of cmds AND delay times to get rid of the display every time.

Someone mentioned a way to wait 20 seconds then send a power-off command, I wonder if this functionality can be used to tweak this problem? I could not find how to do that via search and I've read all the posts about this I have come across in the last few days.

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Jon

Teach it bogus (do nothing) command in RAW mode for the required duration and use it instead of your "down direction" delays. For the bogus command, you can use a command from another remote. Select one that does nothing and fires continuously when holding the button down. I was able to teach, in RAW mode, a continuous 11sec pause command using my STB (SA8300HD) "pause" button.

Thanks jlet, but I can't get it to learn a command for more than 1 second in raw mode, it accepts the command. Is this because the remote is not sending it continuously, its sending it pulsed or repeatedly?

Thanks,
Jon

The command must at least cycle and not send a steady signal, else it will timeout. It will ask you to repeat it so you must be very consistent. I had to used a stop-watch. Note: I think they recently changed the S/W, so that trick may no longer work.
