Hey, I have an 880 and I want to keep my DVR on when I press the Off button for everything. That way when I turn on the TV in the morning it will have remembered the past hour of TV.

I can't set the DVR to always be on because my TV and DVD sound both go to an Auxillary input on my stereo and I must have the DVR off when watching a DVD.

Anyway to do this?

Thanks

Go into the options for your DVR. Select Power settings. Check the leave device on all the time or tell it you do not have a power button for this device. It will then leave it on all the time.

Thanks but I mentioned above that that is not an option.

Oops. I guess I should have read your post better. I use different inputs for my audio. If that's not an option the only other thing I can think of would be an A/B switch to swap the feeds to the stereo. I've seen remote ones that I'm sure the 880 could switch. I have one from radio shack that I used to use. It does composite audio and s-vid. It's an added device to the setup but it might do what you need.

Set the DVR to always On

Review the settings for Watch DVD activity and select "Yes, but I want to add more control ...". Add the DVR to the activity, and in the Custom Actions page, add a DVR Power Off (or Power Toggle) command in When you enter this activity, and a DVR Power On (or Power Toggle) in When you leave this activity.

You'll need to add the DVR to the activity in order the get the DVR commands available in the Custom Actions page.

However, if you teach the DVR Power Toggle command to either the TV or DVD device, then you'll don't need to add the DVR, as the DVR Power Toggle will be available from the TV or DVD commands.
