So i am trying to make my remote when I hit "play xbox" to turn everything on, so far I can get it to to work with everything except the xbox.
I have the xbox mod that gives it ir functionality and I can turn on and off the xbox when I go through the devices menu by hitting the ok button to turn it on and the 0 button to turn it off... but for some reason despite what I set in the setup for "play xbox" it never turns the xbox on or off.
What can I do to set it up properly so that it turns on and off the xbox?
thanks

I assume that you have configured the xbox device power option to use the "ok" and "0" commands to turn the device on and off.
Assuming the above is correct and it still doesn't turn on and off, does using the help button allow you to turn the xbox on (and off)? If it does then it would suggest the problem is a timing issue .... the most likely one being the inter-device delay which need to be increased.

This would suggest that the xbox device has been configured as having no power commands.
So could you confirm that you have changed the configuration of the xbox device to use the "ok" and "0" commands to turn the device on and off.

The "Help" button say that because your device (Xbox) is deemed to have no IR power control even after configuring its power settings (as per post 2 & 4 above). You may want to replace it by the "Xbox 360" (white lie). I think it uses the same IR dataset. That way, the "Help" button will work properly.

yeah the config has the commands to turn it on and off set fine. I guess the problem is like jlet said, logitech thinks that the xbox has no IR control.
Is there anyway to force it? I have the remote buttons already set up and the 360 buttons are different, as is the commands to turn it on and off.. the IR mod i have on the xbox uses RCA codes to turn it on and off I dont think the 360 uses them.
I have heard of people getting this set up so I know it can be done somehow

I had logitech support (via email) fix this problem for me. Now xbox turns off with off, and help says is xbox off (yes or no).

You can wait for Logitech or do-it-yourself. Replace the Xbox by the "Xbox 360" device, then use "Confirm IR language" (under Device > More Options). You will have to redo the power, input settings and key mappings. Your choice.

I have the same mod on my Xbox. I can control on/off with no problems.
