After reporting charging problems for my 880, Harmony sent me a replacement docking station that worked well for a while. Now it doesnt work either.

This probably has something to do with the contacts (either on the remote or the station)

Is there a good cleaner to use or is there another station available? I am tempted to get some fine sandpaer out to clean up the contacts...

Any advice appreciated.

I've had good luck just using a pencil eraser for cleaning contacts. I have not had to do anything with my 880 charger yet, but that will be the first thing I try when I clean them.

You can open your docking, and once open, move the contact to an higher position so that once the docking station is closed, the contacts are better "touching" the remote.

Thanks.

I fried using Vodka to clean the contacts and it worked well for a couple of days!

Enough to get it fully charged once anyway. Will look into both of your ideas next.

Not sure if my dock is old style or new style, just got it for Christmas.

I did have trouble getting the remote just right so it would charge. I found a slight lifting of the back would make it charge. I added a small nickle size piece of sticky backed felt to the back sloping edge of the dock and now it works like a champ. Almost have to try and get it on wrong so it doesn't charge.
