In a bit of a pickle and wonder if someone can help.

I've set up my 885 with my Thompson Sky HD box and Dell W3202C TV.

When I start up my "Watch Sky" activity (or when I select "off") my Sky box doesn't come on (or turn off).

If I go to the help button and get it to turn the Sky box on it works fine.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

If help fixes it then try increasing the inter-device delay for the sky box. The commands for the other components is probably interfering with the power commands. Increasing the inter-device delay gives the sky box time to recover from the other commands.

Still having problems. Do people generally have a pain of a time setting up all these delays on the Harmony units. I'm finding it a big pain.

to add a further moan.
My xbox 360 doesn't turn on as part of my activity. When I use the help it takes about 3 goes to get it on. "Is your XBOX on" NO "Is your XBOX on" NO "Is your XBOX on YES! What is the difference in the help screen between the first , second and third attempt to get the Xbox on?

Luck.

It might be worth trying to increase the number of times a command is repeated to see if that cures the problem.

[This setting is hidden away in the Device troubleshooting section several levels down.]

Also by default, your XBox 360 power configuration is set to use the power toggle method. Check if your XBox 360 device supports the discrete PowerOn/Off commands in device mode. If so, then reconfigure its power settings to use the discrete method (instead of the toggle method).

Note: The "number of repeats" (now nameless) setting is under Device > Troubleshoot > Show me more problems > Device doesn't appear to receive every command correctly > The device responds to some commands occasionally...

Well things are getting a little better!
My Sky HD box now seems to turn itself on and off as it should (I increased the number of times a command is repeated as suggested)
The xbox 360 isn't doing the same unfortunately.
I've tried upping the number of times the ON command is repeated but to no avail.

I'm not sure what
"Also by default, your XBox 360 power configuration is set to use the power toggle method. Check if your XBox 360 device supports the discrete PowerOn/Off commands in device mode."
means. am I looking for these discrete codes within my harmony settings ?

Press the "Device" button, select the XBox device and look for the "PowerOn" and "PowerOff" commands in the LCD. Try them. If they work (discrete action not toggle action), then reconfigure the XBox device power settings to use them by selecting the "A button on the remote for On, and a different button for Off" option and selecting these commands.

Yet more problems!
Having altered the Sky HD settings to up the number of times a command is repeated (to rectify the problem of the box not turning on correctly) I now can't navigate round the Sky Planner correctly as 1 push of the down button moves me down 3 times!

Reset the number of repeats and relearn the power on command in RAW mode.
