If I understand correctly, the difference between "analysed" and "raw" is that in the first case the IR datastream is analysed and a command extracted, and with raw the entire received datastream is stored.

Is that correct?

When I teach the Harmony IR commands, I position the remote about 2" from the Harmony and press a button on the original remote. 9 out of 10 times, I get an "Error Sending Data" message in the software and I need to press the button for a second time. This second time the software never fails to correctly "send" the data. It does not matter if I choose "Learn" or "Learn Raw". It happens in both cases.

What's causing the error message and what's the difference between the first button press and the second (in other words, why does it always fail the first time and succeeds the second)?

Are you sure the second one is actually working ? I had the identical effect, but found that although the command had apparently been picked up at the second attempt, when I actually tried it on the device it didn't work.

In RAW mode, it will always ask you to send the command twice to confirm it. It used to say something like "the command seems a bit long and/or simply please try again to confirm". Now it uses the error message meant for the regular mode. This sounds like an "error message pointer" screw-up in the Harmony S/W interface.
