I'm sure the answer to this is here somewhere but I can't find it.

I have my 880 95%+ where I want it. I have some ideas (now that I have spent so much time with the bad programming UI to a great remote) that I would like to try without messing up what I have. Can I make a second account and program the remote over from scratch to try these ideas without messing up what I have in the first account. Basically I would like to go back to the first account if the ideas turn out to be worse than what I have, without reprograming the original in again. This also allows me to test the new ideas and go back to the original till I get all the bugs out.

That what I did. I have 2 accounts and one is used only for testing. On your login page (before you login), just click "Create an Account" and use a different login id.

I must have opened half a dozen accounts by now :)
Most of them were to use the test function before purchasing the remote.
