Hello, I'm a newbie here so be gentle :D. I did do a search but it seems that the 628 is so low in the Harmony line, that it is not very popular here.

Anyway, is it possible to get discrete Sony TV input codes into the 628? Specifically I have a Sony KDF-42A10 HD 720p set & even it's own remote makes you cycle through all 7 inputs (except ANT). I have had this 628 for like a year, but never really used it much until I reprogrammed it this morning (& got the 3.0 firmware) & now I'm really seeing its usefullness. TIA.

All Harmony remotes are basically the same under the hood. They all share the same database. Many brands (including Sony) supports discrete (direct) commands although they are not on the original remote. Try all the command in device mode and you will see many discrete (direct) input and power commands. You should reconfigure you Sony TV to use the direct method for both the power and input setups.

Thanks jlet! As you stated, the codes were already there. I just renamed them & moved then to a more useful position.

I checked your Sony KDF-42A10 TV device and by default, it uses the direct method for the "Adjust Input". However, the default uses the toggle method for the "Adjust Power Settings". If your TV supports the discrete PowerOn and PowerOff commands (try them in device mode), then reconfigure the "Adjust Power Settings" to use the direct method ("A button on the remote for On, and a different button for Off"). The direct method is preferred over the toggle/cycling method because it's a lot easier to re-sync. Just press the same activity again. It will blindly resend all the power and input commands associated to devices using the direct method. It will not resend the associated commands to devices configured to use the toggle/cycling method.
