I've just bought an LG 42LB1DB LCD TV, and am thinking of buying a Harmony 880 remote to replace my Pronto TSU-3000. I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions:

- Is the LG 42LB1DB supported by the 880? (i.e. is it included in the database)
- Would the 880 be able to directly select an input source? (the native remove requires selection from a menu)
- Is there a URL for the Harmony device database, so that I can check compatibility with my other devices?

TIA for any feedback
Ian

Go to the Logitech Harmony page and you can do a test drive to check devices. I don't think you can see all the commands, though. One other thing - if you have pronto hex codes for a command that's not in the harmony then support can add it for you.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried the Test Drive - it didn't really answer my question re. whether I could select AV sources directly, as opposed to via a menu which is the only option with the LG remote.
I also noticed that not all of the input channels were listed for my TV and AV Amp. Is this something which is easily rectified??
I tried firing off a query to Logitech via their website but the page crashes when I click "submit"....

I checked the recommended 42LB1D (no B at the end) device, and it has many discrete (direct) input commands including the discrete PowerOn/Off commands. Its default method for both the power and input settings is the direct method. Note: Your particular model may or may not support all of these discrete commands. You can easily add missing input(s). You can create a missing discrete command by using the nearest discrete command (anchor point) followed by one or more "Input Next" cycling command(s).

My 890 (same as 880) selects from the input menu on my Sony LCD. When I select view TV, it selects the HDMI input. If I select play dvd, it selects component video. During the setup of the remote it allowed me to specify the correct input for each activity. If your TV is in the database it should do the same.
