I bought a new 880 and everything is great is but when I use it for volume or changing channels there is a delay. But you don't notice it with other functions only with volume and changing channels becaused you are pressing the button in quick sessions.

I had the same issue on my Home theater.

by setting the inter-Key delay lower it helped the issue. I'm set at 100 right now and it still isn't quite fast enough, I'm afraid to go to 0 though.

The other option is to try the 'Troubleshoot' setting and Up your response. It will ask if the device responds to fast or to slow, your is probably to slow.

Don't forget, the delays are just one option to try and make it faster. There is also a way to modify the number of repeats the remote sends to the device. I think the default is 3 for most devices, meaning the Harmony will send a command three times to make sure a device recognizes it and executes it.

If you have a clear line of sight to your devices and don't have to deal with obstacles interfering with the signal reaching your devices you can try 0 repeats for each device and see if they respond. If they don't, work your way up one at a time until it does respond. It makes it even faster.

The way you do this is you go to your device, go to troubleshooting, select show me more options, select the device doesn't receive every command correctly and either it responds too much or responds too little. Then you'll be presented with the repeats option.

The reason I mention this is the harmony was unbelievably slow to control the volume on my receiver when the original remote was pretty speedy. When I changed the Inter-key delay AND the repeats, it responds just as quickly.

You may also want to look at the Inter-device delay. This one is a bit tricky to change but it MAY improve response even more.

Good luck.

P.S. Just for the record, I have all my devices set to Inter-key delays of 0ms and I haven't had any problems. You never know till you try.

Hi,

On my H885, after setting my repeat setting to "0", my problem of repeat commands sent to PVR, DVD, A/V Receiver still persists. My inter-key delay is set too 100ms. What else can I do to get the remote to respond slower and/or with no repeats

Try setting the inter-key delay to 0.
