I have the DirecTV H10-250 receiver and the JVC 56FH96 TV using HDMI. When I go to a channel in HD you get no sound unless it is thru the Stereo receiver. Understandable since the TV only has 2 speakers. To get around this you have to go to the DirecTV setup/Audio/Dolby Digital section and turn off the digital sound so you just have 2 channel sound, then it works thru the TV.

My question is this: Can I create a new activity, same as the Play TV activity, except in this activity, turn on or off the dolby digital sound? Or can I add this command into my Play TV Activity? That would be the best option, to have an on off button right on the screen. Since it is layered in the menu, I'm not sure how to do this or if it would even work, so I ask all experienced users for advice.

This remote is one big P.I.T.A. to setup, however; I'm loving it more everyday!!!

The best solution is to use your receiver all the time. It sounds better and the harmony handles it seamlessly.

If you insist on using the TV speakers then you probably won't be able to do it with a single button - that would require macros which the harmony can't really do. There are some workarounds that others might explain but they may not be reliable.

Set up a second activity and put the commands to turn off DD into the activity startup sequence and the commands to turn it back on into the activity exit sequence. Or do the opposite depending on whether you use the receiver most of the time or the TV speakers.
