I recently upgraded from a 688 to a 885. Overall the upgrade was painless and I really like the 885. It would have been perfect if not for one problem: The 885 responds too much to the channel up and down buttons, skipping two channels at a time when I use it to control the PVR. I tried to reduce the number of repeats in the PVR (UEC DVR830), using the troubleshooting options given in "the device responds too much to some commands" going from the default 3 to 0 but the problem remains.
One would think that a setup that worked perfectly with the 688 would not cause any problems with another Harmony remote, but it looks as if this is not the case. Any ideas?

Try relearning the Channel Up and Down buttons for the PVR, in the device set-up, from the original remote.
When relearning the codes, Push the button quickly, (don't hold it down), and see if that corrects the problem. It is possible that the learned codes in the harmony database are actually two codes in one.

It may also be helpful to relearn the commands in "Raw" mode.

Thank you for the excellent suggestion. I relearned the commands and now everything is simply perfect.
