Just got a 676 and was wondering what I should expect the battery life to be? Currently using the batteries that came with the remote. Should I consider re-chargeables going forward? Thanks!

I just popped in 1.2v 750mah recharges into it and got 2 days out of it. I'm just hoping it was a NiMh memory problem and recharged them, I will see how long they last again.

If you have programmed the light to always come on, then you will get (at most) about a month of usage.

What's the best setting to use for the light?

I would make the defaults to always leave the light off. And if you need the light, push the Glow button.

..and set the glow time to a very low number.
