I am torn between the 688's TIVO functionality and layout, and the color screen of the 880. My biggest question is how well the 880 responds to TIVO. The 688 is built around the TIVO, but I really like the color of the 880. Can the 880 be programmed to run the H10-250 HD receiver? Another concern is that there have been more issues with the 880 than the 688, but % wise who knows. Has anyone programmed the 880 to work with their TIVO, or should I just go with the 688? After rebate they are the same price.

Most people prefer the 680 or 676 over the 688 due to the button layout and type. All harmony remotes use the same IR codes and same basic Activity model so there won't be any difference in how they control the HD Tivo. What is different is the LCD screen, number of commands on the LCD, Picture and Sound buttons, etc. The 680 and 676 (and 688 for that matter) are fairly bulletproof but the current 880s seem to be ok, too. None of them are wrong and they'll all work so it comes down to personal preference on the button layout and other features such as rechargeable batteries and cost.

Any Harmony will run the TiVo. I have the same model TiVo, and I've used it with a 688, a 680, and now a 360 (each of which was a step up, in my opinion).

I picked up an 880 the other night, and it works flawlessly with my DirecTiVo. Every function works and I've not had any issues with it.
None of us is as dumb as all of us.
