Hi there,

Sky, one of New Zealand's Digital Subscriber services, have released a new channel decoder with a built-in PVR marketed as "MySky". The model, Pace TDS460NNZ, does not appear to be in Harmony's Database which doesn't concern me as I am happy to learn all the commands.

The problem is that my 880 in the lounge learnt all the command and works well, however, I have a couple of 659's for other rooms in the house which don't seem to work. They seem to learn the commands but just don't send any signal to the PVR (no "receive command" LED lights up on the PVR). I also have a 688 in my office which I haven't yet tried - yes I am a harmony junkie!

I wonder what the difference is between the 659 and the 880 which enables one to work but not the other? I would greatly appreciate anyone's opinion as the thought of having to replace 3 remotes is not a good one!

Cheers
Richard

The Pace box is a pretty standard one made available only to operators. I'm pretty sure the database has TDS-460 and TDC-460 (with no suffix) that is worth a try before others learn each command. In Australia, the Foxtel IQ model is TDC-460NF, which is also in the database.

I'm not sure why it doesn't work on the 659. I'm pretty sure Pace boxes use quite a high IR frequency that renders them inoperable with many universal remotes that don't have the frequency range. Not sure if this applies to the 659 or 688.

How come nobody ever reads the FAQs? From the Harmony website:

Pace cable boxes use an infrared protocol called IRDa. The 600 and 700 series remote are unable to send this protocol. All other Harmony remote now support this protocol

However the remotes can control Pace cable boxes using a Red-Eye translator. Visit redremote.co.uk for instructions.
