This is my 1st Harmony remote & I have it finally controlling my components - but not the way that I want it too. If I am watching tv via the antenna, & I want to watch satellite or a dvd, I hit watch satellite tv & it turns off the tv. If I am watching tv & hit watch dvd it turns off the tv. I'm sure this is just a minor adjustment, if someone would be so kind as to advise. The tv remote has different buttons for on & off.

Also, finally have the remote to operate my Dish 508 satellite receiver, but I don't have the skip forward/reverse functions. What steps do I need to implement those functions?

If you told the remote it had separate power buttons then you must be using the power toggle command for ON instead of the discrete ON command. So it thinks it's resending the ON command when you switch activities but it's actually sending a Power Toggle. Check the commands in Device mode for the TV and make sure you have discrete on/off commands or confirm that it's really a toggle, then go to Adjust Power Settings for the TV device and set it up accordingly.

One possibility is that the TV is not included in the satellite or DVD activities; however, this shouldn't happen with the normal set-up (check to make sure that it is there).

Another is that the Power On commands is wrong. If the Harmony thinks it is using a discrete Power ON, but actually has a Power toggle, that could produce the symptoms you describe. Check with your original remote--make sure that the buttons are really discrete and that hitting the power on button twice does not turn the TV back off. Assuming that it works right with the original remote, you may need to teach that command to the Harmony.

You should be able to add the skip forward and reverse commands to fixed or LCD buttons using the "Customize>Change the behavior of buttons" menu for the satellite activity. They will probably be in the database; if not, you can use "Learn missing commands" to teach them.
