I appreciate the response. I noticed that when

and the java applet doesn't launch.
To try to eliminate website problems, I even saved
the Update file to my desktop and tried to launch
it from there with the Harmony Remote software
running (tray icon). That shouldn't require interaction
with the web site. No luck. It does nothing.
That's when, after uninstalling and reinstalling
the software, Harmony support gave up.

You must go to the control panel and disable the windows firewall in the security settings. Also, you must disable any anti-virus software such as Norton.
