I have just had DirecTV installed in my Family Room home Theater. The tech told me that in order to get the components I want to use to do what I want them to do I would need a more powerful Universal Remote than the one supplied by DirecTV. So, I purchased, online, a LogiTech Harmony 880 Color Universal Remote.
Here is a list of all the components I have and want to use in my system. And what I need is expert help from members and/or Admin. on how to hookup and configure the system to control every aspect using the 880.
1. A very old Pioneer Elite A/V Stereo Receiver Model VSX-52. I would like to use this receiver to hookup every other component.
2. A very old Pioneer Multi-Play CD CDV/ LD PLAYER. Model CLD-M301. This is a 5 CD player and plays the old 12 inch Laser Disc.
3. A Magnavox DVD/VCR AM/FM Radio Turner Combo Player Model MRD500FR. (at present this unit is what I use as the Stereo Receiver with the 6 speaker surround sound system. With the new configuration I want to use the Pioneer VSX-52. And, use the Magnavox only to watch DVD and VCR patched through the VSX-52.
4. The DirecTV Plus DVR Receiver Model R15.
5. A Studio Pro Series (Samsung) 43 inch HDTV Rear Projection. Model 42HD43A.
I hope this is enough information. If not let me know what you need. I am not going to touch the 880 until I get feedback from this forum. I don't know anything about the LogiTech 880 but after reading some threads here about bliking and reverse icon colors I am getting kind of scared. Maybe I made a bad choice? The 880 sure did look nice.
Thanks in Advance and if you would like to e-mail me directly at
