When I downloaded the latest update to my 628, it lost the "Record to DVR" activity, which was also assigned to the "Watch a Movie" activity button. Everything still looks the same on the web site, but a whole device, activity, and activity button assignment are gone from the remote. I tried re-saving everything on the web site and updating again. Same thing. No matter what I do, I can't get the activity to re-appear on the remote. Something is obviously wrong at Harmony's end, and I'm afraid to keep playing with the web site in case it loses my whole setup, including dozens of trained buttons for the DVR. Anyone got any ideas?

A few more bits of information, in case it helps:
1. I didn't change a thing on the web site before the activity disappeared - I just did a routine weekly update to download new program listings
2. The DVD Recorder device is still there, unaffected - only the activity using it is gone
3. If I create a new activity from scratch using the DVD Recorder, it also disappears on download. It's there on the web site, but there's no trace of it in the remote after download.
4. The remote is being updated from the web site - if I change the name of one of the existing activities that isn't disappearing, the change shows up on the remote after update
5. I've restored an older update for the moment from an ezhex backup file saved on my computer. It correctly restores the missing activity.

I think I'd better phone them. The only time I emailed them, it took them 2 weeks to respond, and all they accomplished was to undo the change that I'd already figured out how to make by them.

I called Harmony tech support. They could only tell me what I already know - it looks fine on the website. Suggested I update the firmware on the remote "in case it's corrupted". Yeah, right. Never mind that it still works correctly with last week's dowload.

Anyway, after further checking, the noticed that they had updated the control codes for my DVR in their database last week, "but that should't affect anything". Yeah, right.

Looks like it's time to re-do setup from scratch. :-(

The guy who responded to you obviously knows more than the guy I talked to. I guess I'll wait a few days and see if they fix the problem.

No dice here either, Harmony doesn't seem able to fix what they broke. I did get them to clone my account so I can experiment with trying to re-create my devices and activities without losing the original for reference.

Harmony has GOT to get some capability for users to back up their online settings. This business of having to manually re-do hundreds of customizations, and then re-train dozens of buttons from a couple of different devices, all because Harmony accidentally screwed up a device setting in their database and doesn't have the resources to diagnose and fix it - well, it sucks.

I have the same issue for a recording task to a PVR. I thought it was a memory issue, cleared the cache... no result. Deleted another activity... still didn't do anything. Have not deleted the record activity to retry.

I gather the firmware download didn't work??

Given my remote is less than a week old, I didn't think it would be an issue.
