I have the watch TV activity setup, the TV, Cable Box, and Amp all come on ok and displayed on the remote's LCD is PgUp, PgDown, A, B, C which do absolutely nothing. What are these for and how can they be made to do something useful?

They're most likely for the Cable Box. If you check the Watch TV activity on the web page there is a link to Modify behavior of Activity, Picture and Sound buttons. At the bottom of the next page below all the hard buttons you'll see custom LCD commands - those appear in the LCD screen when you're in that activity. All the button mappings can be customized from this screen, plus you can customize the picture and sound buttons from their respective tabs.
Each device also has the same type of customization which is activated using the Device button and choosing a device.
You need to explore all the options for both devices and activities.

Hmmm, I'd actually like at least one of those buttons do something with the TV but I bet that's not possible.

You should be able to customize the LCD buttons to do whatever you want.

Sure you can. The TV should show up in the customize buttons page now. If not you can always teach the command to one of your other devices.

The PgUp, PgDown, A, B, C commands are for your CableBox sub-menu control. You have to select one of those CableBox menus first by pressing the appropriate button like Guide, Menu, List, etc. But first, you desperately need to familiarize yourself with your CableBox control using its original remote and user manual. Then, if needed, map any missing commands to your activity.
