Hi,
I've read some posts where jlet has been able to use the Media button to set up macros of no more than 4 commands.
I basically understand it, but I'm having a disconnect and was hoping someone could help clarify.
I *think* what I'm supposed to do is set up channels using up to 4 alpha characters and then teach the appropriate command to each character, and then string them together as a favorite channel.
So for example if I wanted to send a Pause>>Down arrow>>Instant Replay, I could set up these commands on letters like P,D, and I and then set up a favorite channel that is PDI.
That's where I lose it. I'm not really sure how to teach a command to the alpha characters. Could someone flesh that out in more detail?
Thanks in advance.

You teach it the same way as you would do for any other command names (Device > More Options > Learn infrared commands). In the "MyNewCommand" box, you simply type a single character for the command name. Don't forget to teach these commands to the "Tuner" device used in that activity. The Media Favorite Channel buttons send commands only to the tuner device.

I think I got it now. i just learn the commands to letters and then enter the 4 letter code as if it were a channel number when I add channels to my favorites. Is that right?
Thanks!

I got it. I had to turn on the "Favorite Channels" option. I only had the guide options set to on. It works great!
Is there any way to shorten the delay between commands?
Thanks!

Reduce the "Inter-Key" delay (Device > More Options > Adjust the delays (speed settings)). Note: You may also have to reduce the "Inter-Device" delay unless the "bug" has been fixed. The "bug" uses the sum of both the "Inter-key" and "Inter-Device" delays when sending Media Channel commands. I don't know if the "bug" has been fixed yet.
