I just spoke with the Logitech Rebate Center and they claim that the only way the $50 rebate on the 880 and 676 will be given is if the remote was purchased from Tivo directly.

I explained that the "Exclusive offer for Tivo users" was struck out (rebate department 70622), but I was told the rebate center never received any changes to the rebate. The only choice the computer offers them when they enter where the receipt is from is "Tivo" or "Invalid".

I have also seen the same rebate out there to the same rebate department (Department 70622) with nothing about Tivo, that area of the rebate is just white like the rest of the background. My understanding is that rebate departments are set up specifically for certain retailers. My concern is that rebates are being tampered with.

Has anyone received a rebate check for this offer that did not purchase the remote directly from Tivo?

My rebate form doesn't say anything about a tivo:

The form doesn't mention tivo anywhere on it that I can see.

Many of us on Fatwallet hot deals (search for Harmony) have called the rebate center (not Logitech) listed on the form and told them that we got the form when we entered the 880 giveaway sweepstakes. When done we got a screen that said we already won and gave us this $50 coupon. There was nothing about TiVo on it. This is exactly how I got mine and when I told the rebate center that, they changed my status.

Has anyone received the $50 rebate yet for this offer?

I have one from Amazon for $30 but if I could get another $20 I would be golden!

I have seen both rebate forms and verified that they indicate nothing about proof of purchase from TiVo.

There are eBay sellers that are touting this $50 rebate.

Any info would be appreciated.

I just got a message from Logitech, telling me that my rebate is being processed. My rebate form had no mention of Tivo on it! I also made sure I purchased the remote at an authorized retail store (Best Buy). I did the PM with an internet ad for $119. I'll post again once I get a check!

Bat -

How did you get the remote from best buy for $119 (or was it $169 minus the rebate)?

I'm seeing it listed on bestbuy for $249, where I've seen it several other places online for $189-$219.

I think he's talking about the 676, not the 880.

Yes, I got the same deal. I printed the WalMart 676 ad and took it to BB who PM'ed it @110%.

I was able to get the 880 from best buy for $222, they pm'd costco. I printed out the online order form. They added the shipping cost and gave me a $28 credit. I was satisfied with that.

I'm sorry! I was talking about the 676! The main info I wanted to share was that I did hear from Logitech about the rebate! I'm just hoping to see the check soon! I'll keep you posted

Can you tell me what number you called to talk to the rebate center. I sent my rebate in in early March and when I go to the website there's no record of it.

I bought a 676 and sent in the rebate. I also just got an email saying that the rebate is being process...

Nothing about Tivo.... I think someone was pulling your chain. Either that or they have changed the offer...

Good luck

I also just received an email from the logitech rebate center, same deal, no mention of tivo. It DID take almost a full month from the time I sent it in to the time that I heard from them. And the emails say to allow for 6-8 weeks for the rebate. At least I'm getting it.

Thanks for the link, dmarcus48!

I too had downloaded the "Tivo users" rebate offer and, because I didn't see any restrictions on the place of purchase, I bought a 676 from Newegg ($117 + $5 shipping). I was filling out the form and noticed there is no "send to:" address on it!

I'm filling out the new form now, thanks to dmarcus48 and RemoteCentral.com.

With this rebate, and the employee price at Best Buy, I'm in remote heaven!
