Hi

First, sorry for my poor English. Hope you understand what I want to say.

Since yesterday I'm a proud owner of a Harmony 525. I made an activity for watching TV. First, the Harmony powers on my Acer AT3201W LCD TV and switches to AV2. After that the Panasonic DMR-E85H will be powered on and switches to Tuner (I want to change the channels with the Panasonic). This should work flawlessly. But (!), the Panasonic takes about 15 sec. to power on. The TV switches to AV2, thinks there's no signal from AV2 (because the Panasonic takes so long to power on) and switches back to the TV tuner.

How can I make an activity with the following steps:
- Power on the Panasonic
- Wait 15 sec. to power on
- Panasonic switches to Tuner
- Power on the Acer TV
- Acer switches to AV2

I know, these are very basic things (I only have these 2 units) :-)
But I hope someone can give me detailled instructions.

Thanks in advance
Tom

Try setting a 20 second power-on delay for the TV.

I set a 20000ms power-on delay for the TV now. But now when I start the activity, the TV powers up instantly like before and the Panasonic DVD won't power up.

I can't believe it. I've spent hours and hours to solve such a basic problem... When I hear that many people control more than 10 units with the Harmony.

The 20 second power on delay for the TV was supposed to give the DVR time to power up and switch inputs before the TV would try to switch to the AV2 input.

Keep the 20000ms power on delay and increase the inter-device delay for the DVR by a few hundred ms.

You could also check to see if it's ok to just leave your DVR on all the time. It shouldn't be a problem.

A kluge might be to tell the Harmony that the Panasonic recorder is a TV with a long power-on delay, and configure the actual TV as an additional device.

However, it is probably worth checking with Harmony tech support first. I understand that they have more control over device delays than the end user interface supports, so they may be able to reorder devices such that the Panasonic starts first.

I have a feeling that you have a SCART connection between the devices (typically in Europe) and the SCART signals aure interfereing with which inputs are active.
