I had this message when I tried to update 768 with 745 file. Is it possible that your account somehow was switched to a different model? I suppose it's also possible that it has something to do with firmware versions. Probably a question for tech support.

I got this with my new 768. I found two things, if I downloaded the file first, then double clicked on it, it worked. I also found referance in the help at Harmony to clear your temporary internet files. I have never seen that actually resolve and issue, but I did it and it has worked flawlessly since.

If you need some help clearing your temp internet files, let us know. (Please mention the version of Internet Explorer you are running, if you need help with the temp files.)

Mine just started doing it as well. I just made some changes to my menus, timing and options and tried to update the 768, and got the error. I tried both of the suggestions above, clearing my IE6 temp files, and downloading the configuration and double clicking on it, to no avail. I've emailed Harmony Support to see what the problem is.

Scott,

Did you try updating the firmware on your remote? That turned out to be my problem, in addition to clearing my Temp Internet files.

I also get this error-message today! I've tried all suggested solutions above, but can't update my 768.

I've also emailed Harmony Support.

Hello all. I've received this email from Harmony Support team:

Hi Jan,
I am very sorry to hear that you are having problems with the update of your Harmony Remote. We have recently made a change to the Harmony website in order to improve the quality of the update process. However, it appears that in some cases these changes have caused a problem such as the one that you have reported. It is important to stress that this problem has not affected your configuration at all and that the problem was not caused by any changes that you made to your configuration.

To clear the problem please follow these steps:

1) Run the Connectivity Check to identify your Harmony Remote's model number and firmware version. Click on the 'Connectivity Check' link in the top right corner of your Harmony home page. A file will be downloaded, the connectivity check will be run and then you will get confirmation. Click 'Next' to return to your Harmony home page.

2) Update your Harmony Remote.

If these steps do not resolve the issue then please try the following:

3) Ensure that you have the latest v3.0 Harmony Client Software installed on your computer. To check this double click on the blue 'H' in the bottom right corner of your computer screen. The Harmony Monitor will open and be identified as either "v2.5" or "v3.0".

4) If you do not have the latest Harmony Client Software then you should install it. login to your Harmony account and then click on the 'Software Updates' link in the top right corner of your Harmony home page. The latest software will be downloaded and will then automatically uninstall the old software and install the latest version.

5) Update your Harmony Remote.

If you have any further problems with downloading your Harmony Remote configuration then please let us know and we will work with you further to resolve them.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Regards,

Harmony Support Team

Step 1 and 2 solved my problem.

Thanks for the information Harmony Support, I'll give it a try. May I take a moment to suggest that it would be nice to have a link on each persons home page that takes them to a "News" page that could possibly contain this information, plus other notes of interest regarding changes and improvements to the Harmony Web Pages? Just an idea.

Good idea! I've also suggested something similar by email: I suggested that Harmony Support creates a feature on their website so we can subscribe and get an email when important thing happens.
