Is it possible to sort the activities on the soft keys associated with an activity? I want to reorder the keys for a couple of the activities so that the functions I use most frequently are on the first screen. My fumblings so far have suggested that harmony has a mind of its own in these matters.

The login home page for the 880 has a sort activity feature. The 6xx series does not. I don't know about the 520.

I can sort the activities, no problem. What I want to do is sort the softkeys associated with the activity.

You mean the commands on the LCD display when you are in an activity? Go to customize the activity and there is an option to change the behavior of buttons. At the bottom of this page you define what is on the LCD screen. There doesn't seem to be a nice way to re-order the buttons, I had to manually change each one. On the 520 the commands listed in the setup are displayed left to right, top to bottom. There doesn't appear to be a way to leave a button blank on one page either, but if you wanted to you may be able to give it a command with no label (didn't actually try.)

The "Custom Button Label Area" (in activity mode) has some restrictions:
1) The commands are re-grouped by device priority. The device in the left column has top priority. The next device (in the next column from left to right) has 2nd priority and so on. Workaround: If you need a command from a lower priority device to be grouped with the ones from a top priority device, simply add a "bogus" (a do nothing) command in the top priority column along the same row (line), or teach the command to the top priority device.
2) A command name can only be used once per column. This restriction applies only within the "Custom Button Label Area". Workaround: Teach the command under a slightly different name.

yeah, I re-ordered mine for my tivo and deleted some that I didn't want.

1. click 'buttons and labels' on the website main page
2. click the device you want to change "watch dvd" "watch tivo" etc.
3. scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see your 'custom button labels'

you can rename the labels too, just click in one of the boxes and erase it and name it whatever you want. Or just re-order them. You will have to change all the drop down menus to the right if you move a label (you'll see what I mean when you are at the page).

Just keep in mind that under "custom button labels" that what ever you put in the fist slot will show up on the lcd screen at the top left spot. what ever you put in the 2nd slot will show up on the lcd screen on the bottom left.

I am ever so slowly learning how to use this strange remote interface. Thanks to this thread I can now re-order the soft keys for my activities. Strangely enough the entries under "Custom Button Label" did not entirely match what my remote LCD showed - there were several additional commands on my LCD that were not on the web interface. Once I made a change and saved it, the LCD now matches the software. Confused the heck out of me at first.

So is there a way to change the order in which Devices appear on the LCD? (Yes, I sometimes crave the way my old fashioned remotes work...)

I encourage all you to mail Harmony about this. It is plainly stupid that we don't have the freedom to place the commands as it please us. They can not force us to use their approach. I like an easy way to place my LCD commands wherever I like, not necessary grouped by device as they do, and I like to put empty spaces without having to put bogus commands. For example: I like to put all my TextTV commands on page 2 of the Watch TV activity and now I cannot do it if I don't fill the sheet with bogus and stupid "do nothing" commands. Very irritating.
And why the heck if I modify my SAT activity they try to be smart and copy the modifications to other activities without asking? I have re-done activities that were ok a hundred times now!

I am sending an email about this ti them. Do the same please. The most we are the faster they will react.

Of course they can.

Because many OTHER users ASKED for that feature.

I fully support complaining about features that you don't like or features you want that they don't have - that's how they improve the product. But they also have limited resources and priorities that prevent them from doing some things that they'd like to do.

I'm sure Logitech is in the process of redesigning the software (and therefore reluctant to make major changes to the current software), but that will take several months.
