Hi Everyone.

Just got my harmony and so far love it. My question is when I want to listen to my cd, the Harmony does everything fine, but I want to add that it switches from pro-logic on my Yamaha A/V Receiver to Stereo. There is a button on the remote that I had Harmony learn.

Now I just need to find out how to put it in the listen CD sequence. Any help?
thanks

This one is not a simple solution. Since it is a one button toggle, you will need to setup a state variable so that the remote can remember what mode it is in at any given time. There is a little info on the variables in the advanced section documentation. As for adding the sequence to the activity, see my reply to "Changing Aspect Ratios" for the simple method.

I honestly have not played with the state variables yet, so I can't help you with that part. The documentation is not really all that clear either. Your best solution is to trace a power on/off button in the XML and try to emulate it for your needs. This is pretty much how I've worked out all the other things I've done.

Let us know how it works out.

Yamaha receivers tend to have a lot of discretes. Don't know if the have for that function. What model is it?

As for adding a command to a button all you need to do is use the change button activity and change it's function and add as many commands as you want

I just bought a 768 off ebay. I haven't even received it yet (!!!) but was just running through the online setup and had exactly the same question that is listed in this thread. Does anyone have any further info to add? I want my receiver to go to "Auto Detect" for DVD (it detects Dolby Digital / DTS / etc...), to Analog for my old CD player, etc..

To complicate matters, I have digital cable through my local provider, and unfortunately, some of the standard channels are only broadcast in two channel analog while the majority are broadcast in digital format. Therefore, I want my receiver to go to analog mode for all channels below 100 and to digital mode for all channels from 100 up. Unfortunately, it does not auto-detect between analog and digital. If I have a guess, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to learn xml pretty quickly if I want to make this work....

Thanks in advance for any info.

Shneebs.
